Using this LibGuide
Welcome to the Religious Studies LibGuide. This Guide will lead you to resources that are pertinent to your research and study. Find Articles provides you with a list of databases where you can begin your searches. Find Books takes you to the library catalog where you can search for books, ebooks, DVDs, and more. Internet Resources leads you to authoritative and reliable web resources. |
Search the online catalog for books, DVDs, e-books, audio books, etc.
When searching the library catalog, use more general search terms than you would when searching a database of journal articles. for example, do a SUBJECT search on religion to see the many subjects and entries listed under each.
When you find an item that looks useful, check the subject headings - you can click on them to see similar items. Also, it may be useful to click on the call number in the record.
This allows you to virtually browse the titles as though you were standing in the stacks, except you'll also see any e-books in the collection.
When selecting Internet resources it is important to evaluate the quality of any websites that you use. Consult the USM Library’s Evaluating Web Resources guide, or Evaluating Web Pages (UC Berkley) for evaluation criteria. The following is a selected list of websites that you may find useful.
