The Library at the Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville

Books & eBooks

Books and eBooks can be found by searching the online catalog. You can search by keyword, author (last name, first name), title, or subject.

Books and eBooks will typically provide you with an in-depth analysis or overview of a topic. The breadth of the topic can be very broad or narrow, but most information is based on years of research and/or discussion. Reference books, like encyclopedias, can provide a brief overview of a topic or specific aspect of a field, and can provide further reading.

Books can contain current or historical information, can be a primary or secondary source (reference books are considered tertiary sources), and they can be considered popular or scholarly. Check out these Categories of Information pages for more information.

Asheville students can order print books using Interlibrary Loan (ILL). eBooks can be viewed in and downloaded from the databases with you off-campus login.

Do ask us if you have any questions.
