Sustainability Studies

Subject guide for the Master of Science in Sustainability Studies

What is Sustainability?

Sustainability is an important concept now developing into public concern and policy all over the world. It challenges us in many ways. It challenges us to account for all environmental impacts, past, present, and future. It also challenges us to examine closely how we treat each other, as well as how we treat the environment. Ultimately, sustainability is an unfolding dynamic of human processes and ecologically sensitive products. (Encyclopedia of Sustainability
