Borrow and Renew

Rudisill Library strives for circulation policies that ensure equitable access to resources for all campus users. Please contact Caryn Sumic 828.328.7991 for clarification of any information presented below:

  • Students, faculty, staff, and alumni must present their Lenoir-Rhyne IDs to borrow materials
  • Materials may be renewed if not requested by another person
  • Holds may be placed or recalls requested on checked-out materials by contacting the Circulation desk
  • Recalled materials may acquire an earlier due date; fines will accrue after the new due date
  • Students are responsible for the safe and timely return of materials
  • Upon graduation students immediately become alumni and may continue to use Rudisill Library if they register at the library. Once registered, alumni may check out up to 3 library books and/or media items for the established circulation period.

To check the status of your account, review your checked-out items, or renew materials online:

You can log into your library account at WorldCat Discovery.  Sign in using your myLR credentials. From here you can see what items you have checked out, renew items and check the status of holds requests.

Procedures and Accountability

You may receive reminders and overdue notices via email, but you are responsible for returning materials on time regardless of whether you received and read a notice. The library no longer charges overdue fines.  However, your account will be blocked if you have more than 2 overdue items. If materials are not returned, you will be billed for replacement of the item plus a $10 processing fee.

Please contact Caryn Sumic immediately to report lost or damaged materials. At that time, arrangement for the replacement of the lost or damaged materials can be made. If lost materials are returned in good condition after the replacement billing, the replacement cost will be refunded to your student account.
