Features and Facilities

First Floor (main floor, street level)

  • Seminar Room - open for group or individual study, this space is occasionally reserved for readings and special events
  • Colloquium Room - the historic reading room of the library, this space is designed for quiet study. It is reserved occasionally for readings and special events.  
  • Circulation desk - located just inside the entrance of the library and to your left
  • Reference Collection - find atlases, dictionaries, and other factual items
  • Current bestsellers, new books, and DVDs straight ahead and to the left as you enter
  • Two photocopiers/printers located near the computers along the walls
  • Current  periodicals - straight ahead as you enter. Browse recent issues of magazines and journals. (These titles are just a small sample of our total periodical holdings - most are received electronically.)
  • Computers and networked printers are located along the two long walls
  • Restrooms for men and women; water fountains (two sets)
  • Chromebooks available for students to checkout for up to four hours of in-library use

Second Floor

  • The second floor holds a large portion of the book collection, many study spaces, and the services and offices which comprise the Learning Commons
  • Two public computers are available -- these are intended primarily for quick reference to the library databases, website, or catalog
  • Two computer labs which are available for use when not reserved for class sessions
  • Restrooms for men and women; water fountains

Lower Level

  • Home for the Office of Information Technology for Lenoir-Rhyne
  • Unbound periodicals - request these at the Circulation Desk.
  • Special Collections and LR Archives - available by appointment
